This is an fascinating real life story of an lieutenant-colonel Pat Spooner who was selfless to help smuggle three high ranking officers from enemy-occupied Italy. However, I was deeply riveted of his ingenious method of drawing maps on his silk handkerchief and hiding in derelict barns. Likewise, spending hours in rowing boats in heavy seas and avoiding enemy patrol boats. Furthermore, this is an clear example of helping others; which could range from finding ways to fulfil their current interest and desire. And, the current interest of the high ranking officer was to escape safely and alive. Moreover, this fella was also responsible for supplying stocks of foods for others and was active in raising funds for several churches and non profit organization. Comments are closed.
